BOOKING A COURSE

Please complete and return the Registration Form by email or post to Channel English Studies.

Upon receipt of the Registration Form, Channel will send a confirmation mail/letter together with details of a proposed teacher.

When the course is confirmed, Channel will send a final invoice and a £50 non-refundable deposit is due..

The balance of fees MUST be received not later than 14 days before the start of the course. Channel cannot guarantee to hold the booking unless full payment is received by the due date.
No course will commence until the full fees are received.

LESSONS / COURSES

Lessons are a full 60 minutes and take place in the home of the host teacher. By agreement between the student and the teacher, some lesson periods may include relevant visits to permit practice of the language in real situations.

One to One
Tuition and accommodation are on a one student/one teacher basis.

Shared
Tuition and accommodation are on a two student/one teacher basis. Courses can only be accepted if both students book at the same time.

PAYMENTS

Please make all payments by Sterling Bankers Draft drawn on a London Bank or by Bank Transfer. (Your bank will advise you.)
All bank charges are the responsibility of the Transferee.
Cheques drawn on a non-UK bank are not acceptable due to the high cost of collection.

ACTIVITIES

Students are invited to join in family life. In addition, the host is happy to show you round the immediate area. Family activities are those normally enjoyed by the host family.

On Junior Courses, students are offered three local excursions which should reflect the students’ interests and may include a sporting activity, cultural visit or a shopping mall.

Plus leisure courses include excursions to a place of interest locally.

Specific activities (golf/horse riding, tennis lessons) may be arranged at extra cost.

Escorted day trips can be organised at cost. For example London costs around £80 to include travel but not entrance fees. If another student in the same area requests the same excursion, then students will be escorted together.

INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

Channel accepts no liability whatsoever for accident, illness, theft, loss or damage to personal effects and strongly recommends the student take out personal insurance. Damage caused by the student, accidental or otherwise, is the responsibility of the student or the student’s parents in the case of a minor.
Channel reserves the right to alter or amend the programmes in any way it may think desirable.

All transportation and accommodation arrangements are made by Channel as Agents and Channel shall not be responsible for any injury, damage, loss, accident or delay which may be occasioned either by vehicle defect or through the acts of default of any company or persons engaged in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangements of the programmes. No responsibility is accepted for losses or additional expenses incurred due to delays or changes in air, rail, sea or other services, sickness, weather, war, quarantine, strikes or other liabilities.

Channel recommends that all clients should take out suitable travel/cancellation insurance when booking a course.  We can offer specialised cover provided by One Broker and Gibbs Denley Insurance Brokers.  This covers medical insurance, loss or damage to the client’s or your host’s property and covers in the unlikely event you have to cancel your course.  This is currently priced as £6.05 per student per week.  Full information available on request.

TRANSFERS

Transfers are by private taxi and we make no charge for arranging this service. Students are asked to pay the taxi driver direct. If requested, the transfer fee may be included in the course invoice, but this fee may be subject to a supplement on arrival if taxi charges are changed, or the student arrival is delayed. Please ask for quotation when booking.
Own transfer: Teachers will meet students free of charge from the nearest public transport point.
