About Channel

We recruit our teachers with care – they are our strongest asset. We visit every home and spend time with our teachers to be confident that they understand the commitment of home tuition. Many of our hosts have worked with Channel for years and we know them very well.

We visit students during their stay and speak with them on the telephone to confirm that everything is going well. A Director of Studies is available to discuss lessons and course content. A Welfare Officer is also available.

We have a 24 hour Emergency contact number which is available to students if anyone needs support at any time.

Our teachers are chosen for their qualifications, teaching experience, enthusiasm and interest in receiving guests in their home. One to one teachers need to be flexible in their approach and adapt their methodology so each client receives the maximum benefit from the hours of lessons.

Our teachers, whatever their qualifications, are required to attend a training course before working for us and we offer regular development sessions.

Apart from the tuition, our teachers enjoy making their clients feel at home within a warm family atmosphere sharing everyday activities and introducing them to British culture, customs and cuisine.

Teaching homes vary from modern apartments to family houses. Some are in towns, some in the country and others by the sea. A full description of your teacher’s house, the family and the facilities is sent on receipt of your booking, together with advice on travel in the UK. Homes have WIFI.

Accommodation is of a comfortable family standard. Students have the use of a private study bedroom. An ‘Executive Option’ with supplement guarantees a private bathroom/ensuite facilities.
